“We’ve had enough with poverty, crime, and a system where generational challenges go unaddressed. We will help transform distressed communities into places with top schools; good jobs, safe neighborhoods, quality housing, and economic momentum. That’s the future we’re trying to build.” - Governor Wes Moore

Celebrating 150 years of racing!

The ENOUGH Initiative supports partnerships for sustainable change to strengthen families, communities, and the economy at the neighborhood level with state, local and private sector support. As Preakness celebrates 150 years of service in Maryland, The Governor's Office for Children is proud to partner with this year's festivities in recognition of its historic impact on children and families in Baltimore City.

For decades, Preakness has served as a beloved tradition of sport and community gathering, while providing opportunities of growth for our local businesses and patrons. We are honored to be the home of the Triple Crown's "second jewel". The Governor's Office for Children would like to thank Preakness for understanding the importance of ENOUGH, and recognizing that child poverty affects all of us, and we must act.

Special thank you to our friends at Park Heights Renaissance for your commitment to children and families in Baltimore City. Together, we will create a better, stronger Maryland for all.

Want to be an ENOUGH Community?

Maryland’s ENOUGH Initiative aims to reduce the number of children living in poverty through community-led, government-supported solutions informed by residents’ lived experiences and expertise, data and cross-sector partnerships. This pioneering program addresses the root causes of poverty in specific neighborhoods that have been disproportionately impacted by barriers to economic mobility, so that more children and families can prosper.
